Luncheon Topic: "The Care, Feeding and
Maintenance of Federal Exploratory Units"
Sneak peek preview about our topic:
Approximately
1/3 of the mineral ownership of the U.S. is owned by the
federal government. These interests are managed by
the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). While the
majority of federal lands are in the western states,
there are also federal lands in most of the other
states. Anyone working federal lands knows the
importance of complying with BLM rules and regulations.
Accordingly, please join ALTA when John Rothwell, who
supervises the U.S. Western land group for ExxonMobil
Production Company and currently serves as Assistant
Chairman of the Public Lands Committee of AAPL, presents
a brief overview on creating and maintaining U.S.
on-shore federal exploratory units, including discussion
of common pitfalls, advantages & disadvantages to
unitization, lease maintenance issues, and formation of
participating areas.
